Apartment in Stockholm
Modern. Classy. Smart.
In a busy college life, there is not much time to clean the house. We have chosen practical materials that do not require special maintenance and care. Built-in furniture and appliances keep out visual noise. As the living, dining, and cooking areas have an open floor plan, we tried to avoid the stereotypical functional kitchen as a backdrop to the living space.
The gray tones were diluted by the warm tones of wood. The main accent in the living room was a vinyl figurine by Kaws. It reminds us that the apartment belongs to a young active guy.
Instead, we designed the cooking area to look like part of the living space, with the functional kitchen equipment concealed within the sculptural elements.
Deep sink is integrated into the kitchen island. The second kitchen worktop is hidden behind the sliding panel. The kitchen island transitions to the dining table. Beautiful views of the city can be seen from the panoramic windows. They are decorated with blinds and heavy curtains.
The interior is built on the contrast of dark stone and light textiles. A mirrored apron makes the space even roomier. The tabletop is highlighted by two stylish rounded lamps. Nearby is a rack of glasses, books and decorations.
Modern elements are combined with each other while complementing each other. The apartment offers light, generous spaces tailored to the needs of a student – a space to host guests on one hand and to offer a calm reprieve on the other.
